about
In line with a lot of songs on this CD, it all happened very quickly.... a couple of chords in mind, and press record..... a few layers recorded which give shape and structure and inhabit a tune. Record my voice and then mix it. From first picking up the guitar to finished song in a couple of hours. John Lennon first tried this technique with Instant Karma.. but in the 70s the technology meant it took a week for it to appear. (Please note I am not stupid enough to make comparisons with me and John Lennon!)
lyrics
You Came, You Saw, You Stayed
Capo 3rd fret DADGAD
VERSE: C Fmaj7 shapes
CHORUS: Gmaj7 F maj7 shapes
There’s a bird
I can hear but not see
And it’s singing
As if for you and for me
And I wonder
How it could possibly know
That the song is ours to sing
CHORUS:
All the day
And all of the night
In the dark
The brightest of light
The sweetest song
I ever have heard
You came, you saw, you stayed
There’s a sun rise
We can both plainly see
But it’s rising
As if for you and for me
And I wonder
How it could possibly know
That the warmth is ours to feel
CHORUS:
All the day
And all of the night
In the dark
The brightest of light
The warmest light
I ever have felt
You came, you saw, you stayed
There’s are footsteps
I can hear and not see
And they’re bringing
You closer to me
And I wonder
If you could possibly know
How much I love that sound
CHORUS:
All the day
And all of the night
In the dark
The brightest of light
The soundest steps
I ever have heard
You came, you saw, you stayed
